Understanding Blank Film Refunds
At Rewind Photo Lab, we understand that sometimes a roll of film may come out blank due to various factors such as camera malfunction, exposure issues, or other technical problems. When this occurs, we provide a partial refund based on the services you've paid for.
Refund Calculation
Refund Amount: You will be refunded the difference between the full service price and our standard fee for developing only.
For example:
- If you paid $17.50 for Standard Resolution Develop + Scan C41 (1 roll)
- Our development-only cost is $9.50
- You would receive a $8.00 refund
This policy ensures you're only charged for the services we were able to provide (developing the film) while not paying for services that couldn't be completed (scanning images that don't exist).
Refund Process
Our refund process is designed to be automatic and efficient:
Identification: During the development process, our Sydney processing team carefully inspects each roll and identifies any blank rolls.
Verification: The team confirms that no images can be retrieved from the film.
Automatic Processing: Once a blank roll is confirmed, our processing team automatically initiates the appropriate refund for services not rendered.
Notification: You will receive an automated email informing you about the blank roll and the refund that has been processed.
Refund Timeline
Card Payments: Refunds to credit or debit cards typically appear in your account within 5-7 business days, depending on your bank's processing times.
Cash Payments: If you paid in cash, refunds are processed as cash refunds, which you can collect upon your next visit to our store.
Important Notes
Bank Security Measures: Some banks may have security measures that reject refunds. If you haven't received your refund within the expected timeframe, we recommend contacting your bank to check if any security settings are blocking the refund.
Verification: If you need to verify that a refund has been processed, you can contact us directly, and we'll be happy to check the status for you.
No Further Action Required: You do not need to request this refund; it is processed automatically when we discover a blank roll during development.
